RANSOM NOTES: A new, regular site feature wherein the author will be discussing books, movies, writing, publishing, and whatever else happens to be on his mind on a given day.  I can't promise this will be a daily column or blog or whatever, but my goal is to contribute here on a regular basis and provoke some insightful conversations between myself, my readers, and anyone else who happens to stop by.
